Description

By helping parents find schools, we are enabling market efficiencies in the African education space that will drive down school costs, improve student learning outcomes and save schools millions of dollars in adoption costs for education services and technology.

In Nigeria alone, the population is estimated to be about 180 million. UNICEF reports that 45% of the Nigerian population are ages 15 and below (which is the k-12 age group which SchoolsCompass is dealing with). Africa Development Bank estimates that the middle class make up about a 23% of the Nigerian population
Our survey found that 65% of parents (especially middle-class in urban areas) change the school their wards are enrolled once in three years. Hence an estimated number of 4 million school search is made annually.

However, with over 120,000 private schools in the country, schools face intense competition just as parents lack an easy, cost-effective and reliable way of choosing the right school for their wards.

The Edtech sector has received the highest number of investments in the last few years. However, most tech products and services experience low adoption as the market is highly fragmented thereby increasing the cost of acquisition and the needed marketing/sales efforts.
